What is Counselling?
Picture
At a counselling appointment, the therapist will listen and support you in a non-judgemental way and you will be encouraged to talk openly about your feelings and emotions. The therapist will ask questions, and reflect back their own understanding and provide feedback, enabling you to decide which course(s) of action you might like to take.

Through the counselling process, the therapist will hopefully help you gain a clearer understanding of your feelings and thought processes and gain new insights. The therapist will not tend to give advice or tell you what to do rather they will empower you to take the best course of action for you.

Counselling is completely confidential as is all of our treatment at The Therapy Space Chelmsford. The sessions will place in a safe environment, which is free from the distractions of daily life.

Sessions are usually 50-60 minutes in duration.  A specific number of sessions or duration of counselling may be agreed at the start or it may be open ended. Whatever suits you.
